THE“My Garden” association, represented in Montgeard by Guilhyan and Flavian Durand is looking for donations in order to be able to organize next August the “ Fiera de Montgeard ". Let's help the young people of the village to bring this wonderful event to life!
A medieval festival in Lauragais
Village of Pastel and History, Montgeard was created in the year of our Lord 1317 at the request of the King of France, Philippe V Le Long. The bastide, flourishing and prosperous thanks to the pastel trade, quickly became a center of settlement which continued to attract new inhabitants. Today, La Belle attracts many visitors, day trippers and passing tourists. The association wishes to honor the royal bastide around a large “Fiera” (medieval festival) in August 2024.
In 2022, a successful first edition
Between historical conferences and fun fencing, the fiera welcomed young and old in August 2022 in a medieval atmosphere to rediscover our past and take advantage of the imaginative enthusiasm around this era.
Many live shows were on the program: fire shows, equestrian demonstrations, medieval fights, as well as concerts. To make the fun last, the village was lively all day with stands and activities, offering, among other things, introductions to calligraphy and role-playing games with a medieval fantasy theme.
Regarding the feast, a festive meal took place at lunchtime, and a tavern and dance evening continued until late at night.
Building on its first successful edition in 2022, the association wishes to repeat the experience in August 2024.
Help the Mon Jardin Association
THEMon Jardin association brings together history and imaginary world enthusiasts around role-playing and life-size games. Carried by two young inhabitants of Montgeard, it invites the inhabitants of Lauragais to go back in time during a summer day.
