Soup festival in Lanta - Lauragais Tourisme

Since 2007, every November, the association The Soledra brings together volunteers, residents and tourists from Lanta and its surroundings for a day to celebrate the soup around unusual and colorful festivities.

Appointment to gourmets and gourmands

November marks a high point for ladles and pots in Lauragais. For a day, appetites are whetted to honor a dish that is oh so emblematic of our countryside. Once the party has kicked off, the farandole of good smells perfumes the whole village. Throughout the afternoon, the participants settle in, set up their stands and heat up their pots while waiting for the jury to come… but also for the public!

Hostilities begin around 19 p.m. Spoons in hand, the jury of tasters begins its tour of the stands to discover soups of all kinds: family recipes, cuisines from around the world, new creations, mixtures of unusual flavors... Each new edition offers its share of beautiful culinary surprises.

You can then taste the soups of your choice at will and vote for your favorite.

A very rich track record

To elect the queen and/or the king of the soup, nothing is left to chance! The jury makes its choice by following a scoring grid based on 3 main criteria: taste, color and appearance. The stands are also awarded, according to their presentation, their decoration, the cook's outfit and the soup tureen.

Discover La Soledra

The Soledra is an association created in 2005, which has succeeded, thanks to the motivation of its volunteers, in becoming an important player in the cultural and associative life of Lanta.

Very active, the collective is regularly at the helm of many projects, including:

A choir
English conversation workshops
piano, guitar and drums lessons
batucada lessons
sophrology and relaxation sessions
know-how exchange workshops

Several events expected throughout the year

In addition to these initiatives, there are several events piloted each year by the association:

The Stride of La Soledra, a sporting event that welcomes many runners and hikers every year.
The music festival
The Telethon : the association lends a hand each year to the town hall of Saint-Pierre-de-Lages.

In the afternoon, many activities

For the appetizer, Saturday afternoon has surprises for young and old.

From the beginning of the afternoon, the organizers meet to prepare the great common soups of the Soledra. There, vegetable peeling and cutting workshops are improvised at the Lanta bowling alley. Good humor and laughter are guaranteed. Tears too sometimes… because of the onions! All strong hands and goodwill are welcome.

From 15 p.m., entertainment traditionally punctuates the afternoon. Circuses, games and street shows promise children many surprises every time.

Early afternoon : Preparation of the great common soups of La Soledra on the Lanta bowling alley. All the goodwill are welcome
From 15h : Welcoming of contest participants
16pm to 19pm : Entertainment for young and old: games, circuses
19h : Opening of the soup competition to the public and tastings
Refreshment bar, mulled wine and entertainment throughout the evening
21 h : Awards
