Located at the crossroads between Ariège, Aude and Lauragais, Calmont has had a turbulent past. Its foundation dates back to the 13th century and already at that time the Count of Foix and the Count of Toulouse claimed sovereignty! But it was from the 16th century with the birth of the Protestantism that the fate of the bastide tips towards a long period of suffering and wars. From the church to the temple, you will learn more about this stormy past, forever marked by religious wars.
